How One Man Won Three Tickets Worth $3,597 to Atlassian Team 2025
When we first announced our Atlassian Team ’25 ticket giveaway, the energy was electric. The anticipation was real. We had our sights set on a wild, three-day LinkedIn showdown where creative professionals from around the world would battle it out for the ultimate prize: free tickets to the most anticipated collaboration conference of the year.
We imagined a frenzy of reposts. A flood of comments. A heated debate in our DMs over who really deserved to win. And in the end? Well…
Only one person entered.
Yes. One.
And that, is the story we’re here to tell.
Setting the Scene: A Competition That Had It All
Let’s rewind. The goal was simple: give away three tickets to Atlassian Team ‘25, taking place April 8–10 in sunny Anaheim, California. Each ticket was valued at a crisp $1,199, and up for grabs were:
- Exclusive keynotes (including a live talk from F1 legend Jenson Button)
- Hands-on training and workshops
- First looks at AI-powered Atlassian features
- Powerful networking opportunities
- Product announcements, panels, meetups… and probably a solid amount of coffee
And to win? All you had to do was participate in a series of lighthearted LinkedIn challenges over three days. Respond to a post. Repost it to your network. Bring your A-game. Easy, right?
We launched on Monday, March 17, buzzing with optimism.
Enter: Our Lone Warrior
As we posted our first challenge at 2:30 PM sharp, we waited for the comments to roll in.
And waited.
And… waited.
Then, finally — like a hero riding in at the eleventh hour — came one single comment. One glorious, thoughtful, creative comment.
Our only entrant. Our unexpected champion.
Let’s just call him what he is: the undisputed, undefeated, three-time champion of our giveaway.
Because here’s what happened: He didn’t just show up. He showed off.
Day 1: A Gentle Beginning
Our Monday challenge asked participants to share their insights about teamwork and innovation — a prompt designed to spark thoughtful stories and personal experiences. And our guy? He absolutely delivered.
His response:
Innovative strategies? Use your deep Jira history in conjunction with the API-accessible elements to build complementary vector DBs that bring key context for classification systems. Store them and read them from entity properties.
We read it twice. Then again. It was clever, technical, and showed a level of familiarity with Atlassian tools that honestly made us wonder if he secretly worked there.
Winner #1: Secured.
Day 2: Still No Rivals
Tuesday rolled around, and we hoped others might catch on. Maybe Monday was too busy for most. Maybe LinkedIn’s algorithm was being stingy. Maybe Mercury was in retrograde.
But alas — it was once again a solo show. Our lone warrior returned with another solid response.
Still thoughtful. Still on-brand. Still… alone.
Winner #2: Still him. Obviously.
Day 3: The Diagram That Won Our Hearts
Now, for the grand finale: Wednesday’s challenge.
We went a little quirky for this one. We asked participants to start a free trial of Capable, our all-in-one toolkit, and use the visual diagram editor to sketch Jenson Button in a race car.
Here was the challenge text:
Today’s Challenge
Start a free trial of Capable, the all-in-one toolkit, and using our visual diagram editor, create a sketch of Jenson Button in a race car.James, our Product Marketing Specialist, has provided an example in the comments along with a link to our documentation for some tips on how to use our diagram editor.
Here was James's example:
And what did our one-man army deliver?
A fantastic visual of Jenson in his car, made using Capable’s diagram editor — quirky, fun and cheeky. The man took our whimsical prompt and turned it into a fully-fledged sketch that had us grinning. Does Jenson have his hands up in celebration or is he cursing the crowd?
Here's William's creation:
Bonus Entry: Because Legends Don’t Stop at Three
As if that wasn't enough, our undisputed champ submitted a second, totally unprompted, and unexpected diagram.
This time, he used C4 code to outline the different crews and teams and their processes in the race.
In his comment, he called our diagram editor:
> “One of the best that I've used.”
Blushes in product marketing.
So, What Happens When You Win All Three Prizes?
Well, in this case: you take them all.
That’s right. Our winner walked away with not one, not two, but three tickets to Atlassian Team '25 — a total value of $3,597. All to himself.
Whether he’s bringing friends, coworkers, or just flexing different lanyards each day of the event is entirely up to him.
