October Events Summary

The last 11 days have been a whirlwind for the Capable team—the kind that leaves you invigorated, not exhausted. From the sun-soaked streets of Barcelona to the bustling heart of London and the charm of little ol’ Bristol, we’ve been on a mission to connect with the Atlassian community and showcase our latest innovations.

Here’s a recap of our recent adventures:

Barcelona: Atlassian Team '24 (October 8-10)

We kicked things off with a bang at Atlassian Team '24 in Barcelona—a major highlight of the year. Spanning three days, the event was packed with collaboration tools, innovation, and meaningful conversations. Jack dove deep into the world of teamwork efficiency, proudly showcasing our Capable product suite. The response to new features like Capable Diagrams and Capable Approval for Confluence was incredible, sparking rich discussions with industry leaders, innovators, and passionate users alike.

A fun moment came when we released our funky rap video, capturing the spirit of the conference and giving everyone a good laugh—proving that tech can be both innovative and entertaining. Arsène Wenger’s keynote on leadership was inspiring, and Dom Price from Atlassian left us buzzing with insights about the future of teamwork.

Barcelona’s lively atmosphere set the perfect tone for what became an unforgettable start to our journey.

Bristol: ACE Event (October 15)

It was a first for James as he headed to Bristol for an ACE (Atlassian Community Event) on October 14 at the OVO building. This event had a more intimate feel, offering him the chance to connect deeply with other Atlassian enthusiasts. The focus was on best practices for Confluence, and we were excited to share the latest updates to our product suite while hearing feedback from users in a closer-knit setting.

A special shoutout to Martin Brignall for hosting such a warm and welcoming gathering—and for the brilliant hack of using a highlighter pen to open beer bottles! The event was a masterclass in Confluence and Rovo, with insightful presentations from Jay Prakash of Adaptavist and Matt Reiner from K15T. James left with a wealth of new strategies and ideas to bring back to the team.

The local vibe of Bristol made it the perfect environment for creative conversations.

London: Data-Driven Insights (October 15)

Next, we switched gears in London on October 15 for the Data-Driven Insights – Enhancing Enterprise Decision-Making event at 150 Minories. The focus here was how real-time data is transforming enterprise decision-making.

While Capable is all about enhancing workflows, this event highlighted the importance of leveraging data to drive smarter, faster choices. Engaging with enterprise customers at this event gave us valuable insights into the intersection of collaboration and data—and we walked away with new strategies to further align our products with this evolving landscape.

London: ACE Event (October 16)

Back in London on October 16, Jack attended our second ACE event of the week, 10 Ways to Use Confluence At Its Best. Despite the busy schedule, the energy in the room was contagious!

This event focused on maximizing integrations and unlocking the full potential of Atlassian tools within larger ecosystems. Naturally, we were front and center, demonstrating how Capable fits seamlessly into that narrative. The feedback from users who have integrated our apps into their workflows was inspiring—it’s always rewarding to hear firsthand how our tools are simplifying day-to-day operations.

After a packed evening, Jack rounded off the night with a friendly game of darts at Flight Club with some of the attendees, still feeling “fresh as a daisy” the next morning.

The Fast and Furious Tokyo Jeff!

This update is a bit unique! Jeff, our Speed correspondent in Japan, recently discovered a street car meetup in Tokyo. We’ve taken care to blur out any license plates to protect the anonymity of these street racers, and we also refrained from sharing Jeff’s photo with Vin Diesel.

Jeff is fully immersing himself in Japanese culture, taking 30km walks every few days, visiting shrines, and savoring the local food and drinks. We’re incredibly proud of him for embracing such a significant cultural shift, and we’re grateful that Capable has provided him with this amazing opportunity.

What’s Next?

After attending three Atlassian events in a single week—right on the heels of The Big Event in Barcelona—the Capable team is laying off the travel this week.

It’s been a whirlwind tour, but one filled with learning, collaboration, and plenty of memorable moments. We're eager to take what we’ve learned from these events and apply it as we continue to innovate and build better tools for teams across the globe.

Until the next event, we’ll be in our virtual workspace, perfecting what we do best.
